Pasadena Dormidamente

Pasadena real nice; sort of Phoenix central corridor. Nicer.
San Marino nicest. But dense. Lots of street traffic. Upscale.
But people pay way too much for housing here. International demand.
And how 5 lane freeway gets tied up of a Sunday afternoon beyond me.

Slept in good this morning. A little housekeeping in the truck.
Am just going to do the Huntington today. Getty tomorrow.
Slightly overcast but clearing. Have no idea of temperature.
Ha... that's an Arizonan's attitude... we don't want to know!

LA Humongously Yours

Malibu

Care to be interviewed?

No changes - 40 years!

Santa Monica Pier

Sunset with Dumpsters

It was a long day. Lots of driving with several changes in iternary.
Got to Malibu about 3pm and didn't feel like staying there for sunset.
Did get some fish. I first ate there in 1973! Cod OK but chips very soggy.
Much traffic southbound Highway 1, beach goers going home, I suppose.

Took a while to get to Santa Monica, where I had decided to try for shot.
Again, not over the sea... mountains between. Not bad, however.
Very tired and glad to check into motel, take a shower and will head out shortly.
Not exactly clubbin' - we'll see. Probably will hit the sack sooner than later.

Roadside Glory 3

Adios, Santa Ynez.

After a drive to the interior up to the base of the Santa Ynez Mountains, I made for Santa Barbara, coffee and processing. (Such a vacation.) I've a friend who lives in the Bay area and he calls all this terrain 'earthquake country'. You can see the roiling evidence. Gorgeous day. Truck being excellent. Bit of a taste of oil for high revs in mountains.

Getting set to get to Malibu. Point Mugu. There I hope to get the 'perfect' sunset shot and will try to adjust the camera to capture the pelicans diving for their dinner. Then off to Pasadena to spend the weekend. In a motel. I figure I deserve it, arthritis and all.

I plan on visiting the Getty and Huntington Museums.
Maybe a ride up to the Mt. Palomar Observatory.
And I'll be having that seafood dinner tonight for sure.
Tomorrow, al fresco in Melrose... take street walking shots.

Near sunset; wrong place.

Pelican Hunts

ISO too low. Make do.

You should hear and smell it too.

Attempted Sunset

I picked the wrong spot to watch the sunset!
Looking at the map, I routed myself to the coast.
But Santa Barbara is on a bay, an indentation.
Consequently, the sun on other side of headlands.

Will have to save the rest of evening coastal shots.
Will do them tomorrow. Getting late. Have to get to camp.
Am starving. Picked up some garlic smoked sausage.
Will campfire them with my chile. Seafood over weekend.
