Le rajeunissement

Je suis arrivé au spa, tous les soins dissipés. Change complètement le sujet, non?

Oui, c'est de la sentimentalité. Je ne veuz rien.

Maybe Next Year

The Yanks cannot catch a break!
Last night the fly ball to the wall...
tonight, close one at plate and bad
pitch calls. A strike 3" below knee!

Down 2 runs in 5th. Looking puny.
Frankly, don't like getting emotionally
involved, specially when no control.
No one else here following anyway. Sheet.

Houston up 4 zip now. Stupid commercials!
Yes; doing wonders for my mood. Why, oh why
should I care about any of this? The most
significant things all gone. Poor substitute.

Carrumba... Yanks hitting only .175 in Houston!
Ugh. Feeling so honery just went to Facebook;
tangled with the usual suspects. Redirection?
Hey - maybe move on. Music somewhere?

No. Pull yourself together... LOL. 8th inning.
Stick it out to the bitter end? But of course.
It's over. How to carry on in such despair?
Somehow I must find a way! I've got it...

Peace

A rose by any other name. My grandmother was Rose. Taught me to tie shoelaces.
She had a place in the Catskills. Palenville. The big house alongside Kaaterskill Crick.
I suppose the leaves have been turning lately. Don't think I ever go skiing again. LOL.
Her neighbor was Chance; Chauncy Schubb. We built a pea trellis one summer. Sweet.

Coloring Time

I must have a thousand floral images. Thought I might fiddle with the Kindle app I've gotten into with some. Can't say I like them much. The originals all pretty well defined, one loses line definition in the process but the coloration is interesting. The adjustment panel on the small screen is difficult to work with, even with a stylus. The artsy processor I usually use, Fotosketcher, is much easier on the laptop. This particular one is for Androids only. I do like the gouache like above but, yeah, lines disappear. I suppose one could free-hand some in; don't want to get too bleedin' complicated. I do sketches but sure don't publish them.

This looks nice. Again, the shadow definitions get processed out. My neighbor's irises. Every spring! Once knew a girl named Iris. A real trip. Of course, the mnemonic phenomenon ensues. Knew another woman, Lily. She was a great lover but I was still in love with my ex-wife at the time so I had to cool her jets. I think of her too.

Not bad. I'd like to find an app I can use on the laptop to do this sort of effect. Just need to take the time to hunt and peck. Well, this also reminds me of coloring time with the guys at the group home. I'd sometimes invite them to use the laptop for one reason or another. Not much cognition but fun to pull up cartoons and pictures of themselves and those they knew.

Showdown

Hadn't watched a Yankee game all season until playoffs so I'm not exactly fanatic.
Presume many people of such a persuasion will posit that the baseball gods just
might favor the people of Texas with solicitude after destruction of the hurricane.
They're both excellent teams. Course I've got a sentimental favorite. Naturally.

Will miss Francesca. Don't know from whence that sentiment comes. Very strange.
She did once say she was a Yankee fan but she'd say things she didn't mean. Strange.
She'd be busy yucking it up with the yobs anyway. What a way to earn a living! Crikey.
(Pitcher backs up catcher play at plate.) Found nice quiet place in neighborhood.

The more things change...

Here's to Marlene. From what I gather, she had quite the cabaret act from that former supper club paradigm. A strong anti-Nazi who worked tirelessly during WWII entertaining troops and on bond drives, I think she got old fast per Hollywood casting and chose to play the clubs.

Emil Jannings, on the other hand, got jammed up for his Nazi sympathy. I've seen several of his films including "The Last Command" for which he was awarded the first Oscar for leading man.

Well, I digress, the Yanks not doing too good.
They haven't won a game in Houston.
OK. Judge homers. Down 2 in 8th. Catastrophe!
Oh, we gone. Actually, tomorrow is another day.

Watch Closely

I think this is a Huernia of some sort. From South Africa. The blooms smell of carrion.
They should be popping soon. I'll be there since they're right there. And the flies.
Should make for a very pretty picture. Great texture. If it turns out good, a print.
Time to go watch Yanks. Awfully hungry. Could wrap it up tonight. Won't say nothin'.
