Get Fixed

While putting my boots on. Bit of a struggle. Socks moreso. But got it done and luckily had camera alongside. Papago Park. Merely a stroll a couple of weeks ago. Am ready for more but that's contingent on chiropractic visit tomorrow. First one presently; will get 'worked up' and, hopefully an adjustment on the road to resolving. Feels out of kilter, for sure. No pain. Tight. Fatigues quickly. Lumbar  and sacral plexus. No activity during COVID quarantine and close to home in easy chair 18 months. Back at it about two. Dropped near 50 pounds.

Feeling good. Yes, high hope for fixing, then another walk in a park. Made a point to lose as much of the gut as possible with hydrotherapy. Range of motion. Some little treadmill but uncomfortable. Sometimes, compensating and recovering balance, my gait is wobbly. Will get that straightened out directly!M

Meanwhile, good to post this and expect more pictures with increased activity.

Minding My Own Business

Spectacular. Soon to bed after. Up and at it presently. 4 am and uncomfortable. At Denny's. No hospitality and only drunks about. Nowhere. But this is something. It's over. Who cares?

I'm going back to bed. Reading this. A slog. Waiting for someone, anyone to relate it to. Never happened.

.....

Another good sleep. Up and crosstown. Amused at pretentions. What to do? At Panera, Central and Thomas. Hoping always... perhaps run into someone I know. We'll see an understatement.

Poingent exchange with pastor, who had mentioned Doris Day.

"Que sera, sera but watch where you're going." General aggreement.

Legendary People

I have to finish this. We're covering Colossians in Bible study on Sundays. Deeply reading it presently. A prison letter. Paul sends greetings from Luke and Demas. I met a Demas at the gym. Russian fellow who recently became U.S. citizen. More chat upcoming. May be someone I could ask to church but really am curious about whether he is Orthodox. Could be Georgian.

More comments forthcoming upon this letter. Right now, in transit.

.....

OK. Disappointed! Said hello to Demas who was not very friendly. Nonetheless, mean to memorize Colossians. I'd love to record Proverbs. And the Sonnets.

I've a microphone attachment I've never opened out of the package. After getting the Fall cleaning done, I may sit down.😆All sorts of things are turning up. My Audubon Southwestern Field Guide! There was something else but I've forgotten already.

This picture presents legend of Luke painting the first Christian icon ever. It was also said that he was attending when Mary passed. Subsequent argumentation about Mother of God and such. Can get out of hand. A penchant for extrapolation, shall we say? May I? 😇

Walk It Off

H
ad a startle in Bible study this evening. I had not read the lesson before. John 1 and engaging in discipleship. When I did during, amused to see Jesus ask, "What are you looking for?" as if He knows they're looking for the reputed Messiah and come with me and we'll show them. A stretch but runs right into a crunch.

Luke 9:3. "And He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not even have two tunics." How obsessed I get about all the items in the daily walking (Driving!) round kit, the primary one walking round money. Then keys, licence and communicator. Etc. understatement.

Can I do it. I have so much stuff to clear out. Made proposition to pastor concerning visits to homebound and hospitalized people. Hope to house in order by Christmas. Yes, I aim to have a nice one. Then, decisions about exterior and move back to Oregon.

Here a great shot of one of the purveyors of good bread. Should I? Under the regime of this discipline? Well, the Apostle Paul follows up. Work up an appetite. Deserve. My Facebook post follows a different tack. True story. Proustian?

"My first trip away from home when 14. Someone gave my father ducats to Army-Navy Game. 1966. A classmate, a Scout, came along with me to Port Authority to Arch Street, then old JFK Stadium. Great game.

Went directly home after laughing about the girls only going for uniforms. We wouldn't know what to do anyway. No problems. No scares. Fabulous. Home safe."

Biojoy

One of the most magnificent things I've ever seen. Should have videographed it but too much in wondrous bliss. These starlings, famous for their quickness in echelon, are feeding. The cohort on the right is finishing off the grub... they then flit over the flock to take up station on the left. So it goes on from moment to moment, the flock moving along like a conveyor belt. How marvelously behaviorist!

A good walk in the park too. Presently at Lux. No one here I know. Will be moving on. Bible study tonight. I did recommit my membership at Love Baptist. Some other time, the play-by-play of dealing with theological conundrums. Saints preserve us.

The pastor's talk last Sunday was about Joshua, son of Nun. Sheesh. Threw me for a loop.

Vamoose

Getting collected to get up to Cottonwood. Hope I make it there and last three days in the truck. Have put off going to chiropractor. Old practitioners have moved on. There is a place on Thunderbird and 43rd Avenue that was inviting; just a matter of coverage and I'm perplexed about the new plan: what it will and won't.

Looking forward to getting out of town. Above, way into high Sonoran.
Below, site at Dead Horse Ranch. Good base for upper Verde Valley.

Just had flashback to trek in Sycamore Canyon some thirty years ago. Then it was: will the vehicle make it? I think that was the Izuzu. Great little coupe but not much power and the suspension took a beating. That was a fantastic hike. Vivid memory once I get started.

Sit Tight

Finally got my eyeglass order done. Had to find the prescription in the truck. All the junk mail gets thrown on the passenger floor, sometimes with other pertinent paperwork. Waited on a cooling to attack the vehicle. Meanwhile, the primary spectacles are under something in the house. Stepped on the back-up pair. Duct tape to the rescue.

The phone also has gone missing. Could have dropped from pocket. Has happened. If left behind, did the routine back-track. Unfortunately, since it wasn't formatted yet, it doesn't turn up on the search map pinpointing. On the other hand, a bit of a respite from engagement. Have gone incommunicado.

One wonders. If you clear your mind and all is "Fuggettaboutit." what to do? Let things sort themselves out. Tomorrow is sister's birthday. Miss Jiggles (The noive. A goad.) has had warpèd hostility for some time. She stole my armoire and one of the idiots stole my seat upon a break in the action. Football. Too bad we can't commiserate about Kenny Farrell's last visit. Most secret. Some people would rather compete than be friendly. No need for that.

Nothing to be done about it and I wouldn't bet on anyone giving a rat's arse about forgetting.

Had another thought of Francesca. There's a waitress nearby named Tiffany. I told her that she and I would come for breakfast. But I need to go lightly and no way I go off reservation.

Not My Rose

It's another while between posting but, however risky, have been going to Facebook. My own advise was not to use it as a blog but the demic has driven many an assertion. Call it a will to live.

Here and now, would like to thank Taco Bell for a link-up. They say you can thank them later but I need to cut the carbs. A lot.

Stopped into Francesca's old venue. She's moved on. Very dicey finding out her circumstance. Just as difficult as whenever last time was. Married women do not behave like she did, or so I presume. Who knows a loaded concept. Not my business except for her feeling me up. That's right; a touchy-feely utterly on my thigh while minding my own... business as usual... go figure.

She's still local but distant. We'll see. Unlikely any connection.

Merciless

Something of an issue, women wishing to be men. At a coffee place presently that's got a boozy profit center. The bartender has a haircut, a marginal mullet with the part of her head shaved, the hair dyed monkey-shit green. I'd like to go up to her and tell her she looks fierce but awfully officious.

Had brief converse with UofA medical student. Some mention of work experience along with that of Dr, Battalia. Usually exploratory laparotomies and cholecystectomies. He was also at many a ringside.

Jack Battalia Obituary (1921 - 2014) - Portland, OR - The Oregonian (oregonlive.com)

Not too hungry at this time... am reminded of the onion rings at Ringside restaurant on Burnside in Portland. Going past, one makes the turn north onto 23rd Avenue. Distressed at the time, shops to be had for a song. Vintage clothing, bookstores, croissants. Several taverns. A Greek deli. Sandwiches!

The woman! I'd have to take a picture. Ought I ask? Is she the bar manager? There was a problem the other day -- uncooperative juvenile barkeep. My coffee did not get creamed (A cheap trick!) so I asked him for some cream. He said he didn't have any. "How do you make a White Russian?" Punk.

The few words with the medical student went well. Mention of the facility facade on 7th Street. Oh... monkey shit green from P.A. in open heart. Sam. Did two tours in country.

Layered Look

Nothing but trouble. Undependable people. Idiots.

Killing time at Luci's waiting on traffic passing at evening commute but I just recalled that it's Labor Day so not to worry. Get back over to West Side and perhaps drop into Dave's place. Such a dive, but familiar. Stop off at home to check the mail? Long weekend, right?

Love this shot and the fashion concept. Maybe in December.

Swifter

Lounging at Lux. They can't get the tunes straight, vulgarians blasting presently. Had a good groove going a while when, all of a sudden, electronic termination.

It sure was abrupt. So I blurted, "Cheryl interruptus." to the ladies. Ugh-oh.

Put some space between. A passing notification. A suggestion. D'uh ubiquitous.

So now there's only planning a get away.

Dead Horse awaits. After Labor Day. Logistics.

Bizzara Java

A wicked pisser going midtown again. Delicate situation.

Have to go downtown. Business. Follow up property tax exemption.
Take some pictures; get out of there before two in afternoon. 🚨

Getting Regular Again

Has been a while. Stopped into Last Stop but owner not there and no familiars. It was a coffee klatsch of sorts years ago. Construction workers had their breakfast, being given tokens for after knocking off. I'm sure I have a photo in archive.

Here we go. T'is Zack. Retired FDNY and Motoguzzi enthusiast. Last I heard from him was before pandemic. He had gotten a lease from USDA to live in an old ranger shack in Yavapai NF.

The place really stinks. Not even a sour beer in the sawdust odor but more ripe. Good thing patio. Was curious to see old staff but - no way. People have moved on.

Out and about today. Went to Lux too, earlier. Different sort of stinkers. Got my work done in a fish bowl. Finished this off:

Sent  it to sister for her birthday. Despite the absurd neglect and profound stupidity she and her siblings manifest. Bad people.

Winding down. Long day. Found some items I was looking for. Hard to find some things. Out of stock supply line issues. Golly, I'd clear the coast of these provocateurs and start over.

Robobust

Activities of daily life. When doing nursing, that was the description of an invalid's milieu. How's about people watching? Slowing down in a dearth of societal activity, I've taken to parking at the gas pump in front of convenience stores for a little while after getting a pop or gassing up.

So it was this night. The bigger picture would show a motorcycle on the left. This fellow was alternately panhandling then going off like a psychotic, muttering and gesticulating. A very candid shot. Better cropped and fabulous!

The bot security guy on the case. Avant-garde. Not bad for an amateur. Fun processing. Here again, activities of my life. No, not the crazy guy!

Good Habits

You might say I was in an idyllic space but I'm not. At coffee place doing my downloads. Still struggling to make input here... for what or for whom indecipherable.

Here I could probably declare and extemporate upon those things not mentioned on Facebook or Twitter. Too private. Too much information. But I love stuff "Too much!!!" Pissers.

Were I to return to frequent blogging, would that be a bad habit of imaginary commiseration? I could invite people, especially to comment. We'll see.

Ought to mention this picture boosted from hiker group in Facebook. Don't recall where or when. Somewhat improved.

Refreshing

Away for some time. Even now, having intended to get aboard here several hours ago, I'm pressed for time again. Time.

Playing Misty

Rainy days. Splendid; after a drought.
Again waiting on downloads. Movies.

Had a scare when the laptop simply froze up. There was an update yesterday. Patches. I got the feeling like that was bolloxing things up. Several re-boots. Seemed like the cursor collapsed after getting connected to Wi-Fi. Somehow it worked itself out.

Good Neighbor

The neighbor's irises are a ways off but here's one from the archive done up with a a fractling app. Very nice. Ought I fault myself for getting a piece of petal out of frame? No!!!

Waiting on a download. With liberty to purchase marijuana, am quite stoned.

En garde!

I have a plan. Some purpose. Will take some doing. Get back to you.

OK. Let's have a show. Took ten or so meditative pictures. M
añana.

YES!!! The posting worked perfectly. A gallery show. I'm so pleased.
In a cactus garden. Confident and reverent, snap shots jiggered and tweaked.

Subtlety

Vividétique.

Quite the process. An acrylic touch with slight defining sketch lines. Very nice. Miles long panorama. How to frame? Looks to me like a mantle piece! Exquisite.
