I can be such a knucklehead when it comes to taking care of business, paperwork, records, receipts, etc. I have a dedicated envelope in my desk for receipts and such. I have a file cabinet. Do I put these records directly into these receptacles? No... I'll get around to it, eh?
With regard to auto repair, I've another envelope in my dashboard glove box where I keep my registration and insurance declaration. This is where I usually put those receipts. Well, not always.
The trouble indicator light came on a couple of weeks ago. Catalytic converter. OK. Need to find the receipt as it was replaced about 2 years ago. My registration renewal is due on the 15th; an emmisions check required.
So I go to the glove box - no receipt. Panic. Nowhere to be found. Fortunately, most fortunately, I did recall where I had it done. Midas Muffler. So I call the one at Metro Center. They have no record. Totally defeated. We're looking at five hundred bucks!
Then I thought maybe the data base isn't system-wide. It might be store to store. I called another store nearby and lo and behold, yes, they have it. Hallelujah. Five year warranty.
I've procrastinated about this since the light came on... I'll get around to it. I think my inclination is to put trouble out of mind. God, I'm lucky.
