Nice walk round about Roosevelt near Central. I remember when they cut the freeway trench. Had lunch one afternoon on the job sitting on a mound of dirt overlooking the excavation. Has taken a long time for adjacent neighborhoods to recover. A mix of old refurbishment and trendy new. Many lawyer shops... convenience.
The cathedral's been here forever. I do believe the Episcopal diocese owns or owned most of the land near its perimeter. Now many condos with air rights... no bishop's close.
Many rehabbed houses south of Roosevelt. This one just north on Portland. The rest of the block moderne high-rise boxes; we have a survivor here. You just don't see wood window casings. I think the details are Craftsman. An office occupies.
Along 2nd Avenue, deciduous trees. Don't know whether poplar or plane. As we haven't had a freeze, they're still going off. The streetlamps a touch of yesteryear along Roosevelt Street... that's Teddy. All the east/west laterals are named after presidents from here for about a mile south.
