Up There

Underweigh in the Bronx. Just have to cross the parking lot from coffeeplace.
Odd... when I lived in the Bronx while at Fordham, I never went to a game.
Staying on the Grand Concourse just about a mile away; no interest then.
Very academic; very busy. Thought sports for kids. Yankees terrible then anyway.

When I was a kid, went often enough. Get discounted tickets from Boy's Club, CYO.
The bleachers or the grandstand after the transporting adventure on the subway.
If we got good report cards, my Dad would make connection for box seats near field.
Now that's special! Going to first night game. Lights on the greenest grass in creation.

Wasn't until 1976 in Oregon when I got bug again. World Series vs Big Red Machine.
The guys I watched the games with were Oregonians but fanatic Yankee boosters.
Seems they grew up on Game of The Week, usually Yanks or Dodgers broadcast.
Great times during the '77 and '78 series. (Where's Reggie above?) Such is the thread.
