Luci's, aside from the vittles and coffee reminds me of old Jutenhoops. Knick-knacks, post cards, the odd toys - all at outrageous mark-up, I might add. It is rather expensive but where else are you going to find gelato or day-glo dachshunds?
Waiting on line, the marketeers have cluttered the by-way with impulse buys. I'll pass on these... and the $3 Danish! The scones are awfully good, however. As are croissants; also 3 bucks. Good muffins. Kind service.
They've got a lot of stuff labeled 'royal' this and that for the strivers. Like these here knock-your-socks-off - $12. Kiddie paraphernalia galore. Lotions and potions, etc.
I like it here. I think I've mentioned it was an old Garden Center. I got several plants here over the years. Whenever driving by, a lookout for pots on sale. They bought the adjacent lots and it's The Orchard with an Italian place across and an ice cream parlour. There's a shed for serving parties. Months ago, when I first visited, someone mentioned it would be a nanobrewery but I doubt that. The food looks good and the kids who work here are very polite. One guy, rubbing me the wrong way, seems a Brophy brat.
