Sitting in a parking lot after a shop, I looked up and saw a flock of fifty or more birds circling a tree, momentarily flitting on and off the branches. I grabbed my phone. I would do a video!
Alas, battery near 5% capacity. Immediate shutdown. It was a sight to see. Starlings? I always think that seeing such a mob.
Only went out about half an hour today. I suppose this is the highlight. LOL Friday night in the big city; presently back home thinking I'm not missing anything and that which I feel I do doesn't exist. Always have been a homebody anyway.
Kindle is something else. I can read a book in a couple of days. As mentioned, getting briefed on German resistance to Hitler. I'd known about von Papen, Bonhoeffer and von Stauffenberg - the were many others but they were cooperative to an extent. The Confessing Church was underground but pastors, for the most part, did not speak out. Would have been suicidal and the people thought only in materialistic terms.
The weight of the opposition were aristocrats in the Civil Service and Army. Again, a degree of enabling with that set as Nazism was the bulwark against the Bolsheviks. They thought they could control Hitler. Upon his totalitarian rule, they chaffed, but weren't democrats, to be sure.
After the war, those who survived, like the exile Willy Brandt, whom we remember as J.F. Kennedy's host in 1963, were emplaced institutionally as Germany was systematically de-Nazified. Ironically, if they hadn't committed atrocities, many Nazis were coopted into the Cold War by American and British intelligence and military apparatus. Goes round and round.
As did the birds. Sorry battery not charged.
As I've never done this, consider it practice.
