A cormorant! I was thrilled. He's drying his wings.
They turn their bills up at handouts from people...
no, they dive in and stay under a while going after fish.
Hence the feathers do get saturated. Held up quite a few minutes.
Good walk in the park after having been up since way before dawn. Fine viewing today. There still are Canadian geese hanging out. They graze on the grass for insects. Otherwise the usuals. Have tried to behave myself. Did go online to Facebook and got rambunctious. CNN, Washington Post, etc. are out of their gourds with Trumpitus.

I'm no big fan of the Donald. He's a salesman, and pedestrian at that... everything is the greatest, and it's all UUGE. Like going to a meeting where the marketing people are falling over themselves - "We're just so exited about this product roll-out. This is going to give you the opportunity to build your sales. And you know what that means... money in your pocket. Now get out there and let's move it!" Well, that's politics - moving (tic) the city (polis). A little Greek does come in handy.
That was odd, studying Greek. Learning different, but proto-latinate, alphabet and syntax. Attic Greek never changes. We used the same text they used 140 years ago, published in 1880. Anyway, cormorants are of the avian family Phalacrocoracidae; bald ravens, charcoal colored.
Plenty of pigeons today too. Should have seen them scatter when... HAWK!!!
